Hi. I've been a classical musician all my life; began playing the piano at 5, flute at 8..always sang. Became an orchestral musician, then gave it up to sing; love all music and perform alot of contemporary; 2 new CD releases: UNSLEEPING: songs by Living Composers - Schafer, Harvey, Killmayer, Laitman, Hajdu and Sierra - pianist John Hess; THE ICE AGE and BEYOND: songs by Canadian Women Composers (YES, women CAN compose!!) Doolittle, Ho, Panneton, Pentland and Agocs. Pianist Midori Koga. More info at www.patriciagreenmezzo.com.
Alot of interesting conversation so far at brightcecilia. Drawn here by a thread on Claude Vivier. I toured in a production of Kopernikus, (directed by Stanislaus Nordey). His music is magical and intense. Too bad there aren't any music icons for posting.

Listening to UNSLEEPING now - fabulous. Great to have so much of it online. I've just added Emily Doolittle, Lori Laitman, Kati Agócs, Isabelle Panneton, Barbara Pentland and Alice Ping Yee Ho to the Gallery. Good to have more women -- living ones at that -- among the sea of men. I look forward to hearing ICE AGE. This might amuse you if you've not already seen it.
