Thumbs up New Mahler Listening Group

I would like to invite everyone to a new social group that will be dedicated to the life and music of Gustav Mahler. It is THE place to discuss "all things Mahler".

Any information regarding Mahler websites, concerts, conventions, etc., are welcome. Also, you may post any Mahler-related questions here.

**The group will include a "listening schedule" that all members may participate in. Approximately every two weeks we will designate a Mahler piece that we will all listen to during that two week period and then share our thoughts and impressions that we got from the piece. I will be posting the listening schedule in the next couple of days.

If you have any suggestions, questions, or comments please don't hesitate to send me a PM

Me too. Great idea. I hope it's the first of many such groups.

Thanks for these Phildor. I'm looking forward to listening to these versions myself!

If someone is really pressed for time, I would recommend listening to the Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen, before the Wunderhorn. The 'Gesellen' relates to the First Symphony and the Wunderhorn relates to Symphonies 2-4.

Also, I've put the lyrics to these works in the Mahler Listening Group. The Gesellen is below the Wunderhorn so you'll have to scroll down a bit to get to the Gesellen.

Thanks again.
