Smile Passacaglia in C minor BWV575, J S Bach arranged for piano duet

A long shot this. A friend and I are playing piano duets, and hearing this morning on BBC R3 the Passacaglia in C minor BWV575 arranged for piano, I thought this would be wonderful for 4 hands. I can't find it in any catalogues of sheet music however. It's hard to believe that someone somewhere in the 19th C didnt do a 4 hands version. Anyone?

It does exist - I've heard it played. Several examples here, but they may be out of print. If you can't find it please ask again and I'll contact a friend who's probably got it.

If you cant find it and you still want to play some good Bach arrangements, you might like to try Reger's four-hands version of the Brandenburg Concertos.

I am really impressed by this website actually - it is very friendly and democratic! :-) Had I put that question on one of the Facebook Baroque groups, it would have quite likely received a fairly chilly response.

Thanks again -

a happy pianist

I am tempted to go and tell them to get their heads out of their posteriors.

You realise it's not the one you asked for? You said BWV575, I supplied BWV582...

Why? That's ridiculous. Oh, is it because you *should* play it only on an organ, dressed in a whig, having learned CPE Bach's Versuch über die wahre Art das Klavier zu spielen (in the original German) by heart?
