Get well soon Reiner! Can't you ask a diva from the Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Center to administer a soothing back-rub?

We got snow in Berlin today! bout a half inch-quarter inch. Of course the Berlin weatherforecasters predicted merely their usual "bedeckt." (cloud cover)

I'm sorry you hurt your back, Reiner. I strained my back and pinched a nerve there when I was 16. I had to wear what looked like a corset for support. After the initial injury it seemed to completely go away and I played sports in high school and college. Then, as I got older (and put on a few pounds), the injury seemed to re-appear. I finally lost weight (which helped ALOT) but I still get tingling in my feet every now and then.

I hope you get better soon!!!!

My god! Shorts and Hawaiian shirts all round.

I was feeling so much better last week when I thought I detected some early signs of spring. Arse. It means I don't get out of the office at lunchtime, which isn't great. I like to go for a walk, but not if the result is going to be hypothermia. Especially walking along the Thames. The wind is really cold.

Well, with it being only the first of February, we're not "out of the woods" for snow and ice. Usually Jan. and Feb. are our worst winter months. It's nice to have a break though from those dreary skies and cold temperatures!!!

Ha! London's ground to a halt. No buses, limited underground, few overground trains, people walking round in thin little jackets and inadequate footwear muttering into mobiles whose service keeps being suspended. Oh, how Spotty will laugh.
