No more than Rite of Spring "needs" to be performed as a full ballet. I think the kaleidoscopic orchestration of Pierrot is cinematic enough, but I love the idea of a stage show to go along with it:

No, it doesn't "need" to be performed in its full cabaret version, but I would pay good money to see - live - such a performance! Were there any stage directions given? Was there a choreographer brought in? Besides my interest in finding out those things (if you happen to know, Balthazar), I know a couple of professional dancers with contacts in my local conservatoire who I think might be interested in such a project. Do let me know, thanks.

I love this concerto. Much better than his piano concerto. It is more my type...
