Default Links to other sites.

There must be different ways of putting on a link to another
site. I usually type in the URL address, and it gets underlined
after posting the text.
How about the links that have words underlined and are not
a URL address?
I have seen, for example, the word 'here', then it is underlined.
Clicking on the underlined word(s) then links to another page.
Is there a special procedure for this method?

Yes. Say you want to link to this page -- a story about loony Rick Santorum who may be US President in November.

http://theweek.com/article/index/223...antorum-quotes

To link the page to the word LOONY simply copy the url, highlight the word LOONY, then click the "Insert Link" icon:

-->> <<--

In the pop-up box paste the link, and click "Okay". Which gives:

LOONY

(I did some other stuff to make the word big and red -- happy to explain that too)

Use this thread to experiment -- it can always be deleted.

hey thanks, Phil.
Need lots of computer practice. i always wondered about your
storage space (all the garbage that gets in here with the better stuff).

And yes, these Republicans - Obama must enjoy watching them
shoot each other in the foot everyday.
i'm sort of a political junkie - watch Rachel Maddow (the best)et al.
most nites on MSNBC. i watch Fox too, to compare, but their
arguments are less convincing (and loony)

idea for another non-music thread - what are your favorite political
shows

Default continuing the Santorum theme

On 21 Feb. Rachel Maddow said they bought Rick Santorum's URL:

http://www.dogpeecantstopsantorum.com

so that it will lead to Rachel's blog, (The Maddow Blog), and that
part works.
Rick had visited a woman with a dog. The dog sat on his lap and
pee'd, leaving a nice big spot.
She offered to use a hair dryer or clothes dryer, but he had to rush
to another engagement.
He's been overworking the story to preheat his crowds.
If he can get them focused on dogpee and other little "goodies",
he can delay or avoid bigger issues - and abortion, Satan, etc.
are not among them.
He's running to be President, not a priest.

Now i have the URL above, and i will highlight "dogpee" above,
click on the insert link and see how far i get.

Must have worked - when i clicked on the underlined "dogpee",
it led to The Maddow Blog - my first visit there.
Looks like a large site with all kinds of important info, with objective,
unbiased thoughts.
Now i will highlight "unbiased" above and see if that is a link to
anything - maybe try Bill O'Reilly's show on Fox, which is decent.:

At least i now can underline things, but there must have to be a link
associated with it, or it will not get underlined.

Default Dude Awakening

23 Feb. 2012 - Rachel Maddow with her usual cleverness, describes
"Dude Awakening" as she reviews the on-stage performance of the
4 remaining Republican dudes, in the 22 Feb. Arizona debate.
She noted accurately how the Republican audience noises
are more revealing than what came out of the candidates' mouths.

Looks like maybe a good show on Rachel Maddow's 9pm EST spot
tonite.:
Romney slams Santorum for agreeing with him!
Santorum says politics is a team sport (but i think that is only
AFTER you are elected)
will have to see if that is on her show tonite
