![]() oh brother.I was a waiter for quite a few years. One restaurant I worked at had a very shy chef - it would take at least 2 glasses of wine before he would venture out to speak with patrons. One night, a group of four insisted that he come out so they could give him thanks - one man in particular - he said he had something to "share" with us all. So, the waiters, chef, gathered round, and this guy pulled out a ring and proposed! You should have seen the look on her face - total embarrassment. The answer - "maybe, we'll talk later." Then, you shoulda seen the look on his face - ooops, maybe not such a good idea. Although no one was more embarrassed than my chef friend - he turned into a tomato! It was so funny.

I so hope this story had a happy ending. Okay, she may have beaten him about the head - 'How COULD you do that to me!!!' - but then said 'yes.'

Quite sad, really. Like Phil, I hope the story had a happy ending.
I can only assume that the unfortunate suitor's perception of the relationship, and the likelihood of marriage, was somewhat at odds with the lady's. Still, perhaps it's only a blip. |
